This fantastic two-day intensive workshop will allow you to turn your designs into vibrant and expressive decorated ceramic ware.

Designed for people working with clay, this workshop will allow you to put images in repeat on ceramic surfaces. Bring along your own small pieces to decorate, or studio blank pieces will also be available at min cost.

Over the course of 2 days students will cover:

  • Drawing for printmaking, formatting your images for print

  • The basics of silk screen printing, including preparing a film positive, coating and exposing a screen, using affordable equipment.

  • Working with underglaze printing paste, how to make your own or adapt commercial underglaze

  • Tissue transfer with underglaze printing paste

  • Decal Printing on paper with onglaze silk screen media and cover coat

  • Introduction to digital decals and commercially prepared tissue transfers

  • Suitable for beginners, teachers and experienced artists

  • Full price of workshop $320. Numbers limited to 8 students to ensure individual tuition.

Price includes all consumable materials plus one silk screen with your own design to keep and one Blue House Porcelain plate or cup. Works will be glazed and fired as part of the course.
